Sanctions Verified

Sanctions screening for every vendor and customer in QuickBooks and Xero

Sanctions Verified checks each name against eight sanctions sources when you connect, when a contact changes, and when it turns up on a new bill or invoice after a list update. Each check leaves a dated certificate on the contact for your bank, auditor or funder.

Illustrative example of a contact record for the vendor Greenleaf Supplies. A Sanctions Verified note dated 1 October 2026 says no match on 8 sources checked, the certificate PDF is attached, and a certificate preview shows the contact, the result and the date.

The sanctions lists are free. Checking 400 names against them by hand isn't.

OFAC, the UK, the EU and the UN publish their lists for anyone to download. OFAC even runs a public search page. It takes one name per lookup.

So the data costs nothing. The work is what costs you. Checking 400 vendors and customers one at a time takes hours, and the lists keep changing after you finish. Then a bank asks for proof, and the proof is a folder of screenshots.

How it works

  1. Connect QuickBooks Online or Xero

Sign in with your QuickBooks or Xero login and approve access. Your trial starts straight away, with no card needed.

  2. Names are checked as things change

Every active vendor and customer is screened when you connect. After that, a contact is checked again when it is edited, or when it turns up on a bill or invoice after a list update. Screen now checks every contact again whenever you press it.

  3. Possible matches come to you

You get an email and the contact gets a note. Open the review, see why it scored, then clear it with a reason or confirm it. Each decision goes on a dated certificate.

When the bank asks, send the certificate

A bank's sanctions questionnaire, an auditor, or a large customer's supplier review all ask the same thing: show me you checked. Each certificate names the counterparty, the lists and their versions, the result, and who cleared any possible match and why.

Sanctions screening for any business on QuickBooks or Xero

US sanctions apply to everyone in the United States, and to US citizens and companies abroad. UK sanctions apply to everyone in the UK, and to UK nationals and companies wherever they are. Size doesn't matter. Most businesses only think about it when one of these happens:

  • You add a vendor or customer you haven't dealt with before.
  • A bank's onboarding or review form asks how you screen for sanctions.
  • A large customer's supplier form asks for evidence of your checks.
  • Your auditor or a funder asks how you check who you pay.

Where it comes up most often

  • A container ship being loaded under port cranes

    Importers, exporters and forwarders

Banks and customers ask how you check OFAC and US export lists. Send them the log.

  • Volunteers in yellow shirts at a community event

    Nonprofits paying partners abroad

Funders and auditors ask whether grantees were screened before you paid them.

  • An engineer working at a laptop beside production machinery

    Government and defense subcontractors

Primes push screening down the supply chain and want proof at renewal.

  • A London street with office buildings and a red double-decker bus

    UK firms on Xero

Since June 2022, OFSI can fine a business without proving it knew. A dated record shows the check was done.

  • Hands typing on a laptop showing a spreadsheet of figures

    Bookkeepers and accounting firms

When a client's bank asks about sanctions, the answer is already in their file. One subscription per client file.
